Boston Baked Beans


Early in the 20th century, New England candy makers learned that by using the cold panned process to add sugar and red dye to peanuts, they could create a treat that resembled actual Boston Beans. "Boston Baked Beans" quickly became a generic term in the candy industry, given to all peanuts coated in sugar.
